Tamoxifen

Options

I am a very "fit" older lady who recently (July '14) had a mastectomy - didn't have to have radiotherapy or chemotherapy but am now on Tamoxifen.  Within the first week of taking the drug I began (and still have) a side effect which I haven't heard anyone else having.  When I first sit down (I don't feel anything once I'm sitting down) I very OFTEN ( but not EVERY time) experience discomfort (occasionally verging on pain) in my lower pelvic area (just above my left and right groin).  I can "put up with it" but it concerns me about what it might be.    I have had ultrasounds of my uterus, ovaries, bladder and kidneys and all show everything is perfectly normal. I've been to a Gastroenterologist and because I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy less than 12 months ago which were perfectly normal, he said he thinks it could be just a "sluggish" bowel and told me to take a laxative.   I'm fairly sure (and so is my GP) it is happening because of the Tamoxifen.  It is strange that it happened so quickly after beginning the Tamoxifen, though.   Has anyone else experienced this?    I was going extremely well after the operation  but the problem I have outlined is causing me emotional stress.  I would love to hear anyone's comments on this.
