In this month of pink breast cancer awareness overkill, it was so refreshing to see that Good Morning America featured a male breast cancer patient as part of it's series. The man is battling the disease for the second time (sadly, his wife also has breast cancer), and although they didn't say what stage he is, I assume he's stage iv. Although the number of men diagnosed with breast cancer is small, awareness among men is crucial to survival. My dad died of the disease in 1997, and I know that he would have appreciated not feeling so alone and isolated with this "female disease." Breast cancer strikes men too... it's not just pink!

I am glad to hear they did that. We certainly need more awareness and more of the research dollars going towards stage IV. I wish the football teams would acknowledge MBC with some blue and pink. Certainly nothing my husband ever suspected he could get.
