Worried I have IBC - doctors not listening

    Hi everybody

I have desperately tried to avoid posting on a forum, but I really feel like I need some advice.

I am 26 and have a 4 year old son. About 6 months ago I noticed one of my breasts was a bit bigger than the other. After a while I started to get pain in that breast and armpit that would get worse around my period.

This has continued and is now all the time and not around my period. Although my breast isn't MASSIVELY bigger than the other, I can definitely see the difference between the two. Sometimes I think it has gotten bigger in 6 months but sometimes I think it's about the same.

I saw a breast specialist 2 months ago, 4 different GP's who have all told me there is nothing worrying about my breast and given me evening primrose oil to take (that is slightly helping).

After seeing the breast specialist I noticed a slight dimpling in my left breast, but only in a certain light and this hasn't gotten any worse, and my GP said it's nothing like the dimpling associated with IBC.

In the past fortnight I've noticed a slight itching/burning in my left breast (but also sometimes in the right and on the skin under my breast) but I get a cold feeling over my whole left breast quite often. There is slight redness but not much more than the other breast - sometimes it looks quite inflamed but other time it looks normal.

I'm getting myself into such a state about this, and really don't know what else to do. I'm in the UK and can't afford private treatment/scans/biopsies.

The doctor told me that after 6 months IBC would be obvious and she really thinks I need to listen to the breast specialist about having benign breast paid.

Has anybody got any advice please?

    Thank you
