Best Eyebrow kits /makeup if u have very little hair??
my eyebrows are starting to get sparse after taxol #3....I think it's time to get some makeup...so I went on sephora...
Have any of you tried these brow kits with wax?
Or mousse?
Just pencils won't do....I have very dark hair and it'll just look too fake.
Let me know your experiences.

I use Too Faced Brow Envy. I don't use the wax though, just the powder, because Taxol left me with NO brows, nearly two years later. There are 3 stencils in the kit to choose from. Mine has lasted 18 months already. The stencils and brush can also be used with any eyeshadow that you like. The brunette was just a bit too dark for me, the blonde too light ~ so I bought a medium brown shadow and it's perfect

I lost all my lashes with chemo, except about three hairs. I first tried a brow pencil but found that it clumped in my few remaining lashes and was just creepy. I ended up using SmashBox's Brow Tech with an angle brush (http://www.sephora.com/brow-tech-P260313?skuId=124... and I was pretty happy with it.
I liked that I could blend the two colours to give me something natural. I had two wigs that I barely wore but one was dark and one lighter so when I wore one, I could adjust my brow colour accordingly. As for the wax, I would tap my finger in it then tap my finger over my drawn on brow to help keep the power in place. I didn't like using the brush due to the clumping effect, and then my brush would be all waxy for the next application.
Good luck finding something you like. Sephora is a good place to start

I use Anastastia powder. It comes with two tones. I use a very blunt angled brow brush and gently brush in small strokes. It looks very natural in my opinion. Then I blend with a brow brush to take out any "edges". It is expensive but I think it will last a long time since I use so little. I also have a brown liner/pen thing but that tends to not be necessary since the powder does a good job. I still have a few brow hairs hanging on.

Dancing Diva - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4lajZWeEyE she also has one for lashes, but you have already done that. Also, I went to the 'Look Good Feel Better' class at a cosmotology school, opposed to the cancer center. The ladies there were wonderful. They said, when and if our eyebrows/eyelashes fell out, to come back and they would teach us what to do.

thank you for the advice ladies! I thought u put the wax first then the powder. Shows how much I know! Not i will get it right. I love that video twins. That girl is great to watch and the brows looked great. Getting that looking good class at a cosmetology school is a great idea. They didn't even mention brows when I had mine which doesn't make sense to me. The brows r the giveaway!

I lost my eyebrows during Taxotere, too, and while they've grown back, they are very pale and very skimpy. No visible "tails" left at all. Hard to believe sometimes, because until I started tweezing as a teenager, I had really thick Brooke Shields of the '70s brows!
I strongly recommend using a powder kit, like the Too Faced one mentioned by . My favorite is actually this kit from Glo Minerals: http://www.gloprofessional.com/product-type/makeup... I started using it during chemo and I love it. It comes with everything you need, and the flat angled brush is perfect for making "hair"-like strokes. Like some of the other kits, you get two colors that you can blend or use by themselves. I don't use the wax or the highlighter, though. I don't think the wax really works if you don't have hairs to start with, and the highlighter isn't really as good as shadows, anyway. The powders wear really well on me. The kit also comes with several stencils, but I usually draw my brows freehand. And the powders are paraben free.

I also used the two powder kit from Anastasia. My brows were so beautiful before chemo, now they are very fine and very little colour- so I'm still using it. It is expensive but lasts a long time-I'm still on the same one, 1 1/2 years later.

slv58 - I am getting ready to go back on chemo in January - eyebrows are always a problem for me because I am very fair (white now) - anyway, is the Anastasia kit available from Sephora (in the store) - think I might get one for myself for Christmas!

I went to the free "Look Good Feel Better" event that American Cancer Society hosted. You can get info on the ones in your area at http://www.cancer.org
They gave each participant a makeup bag filled with not only makeup but cleanser, and moisturizer.
The instructor taught each of us not only how to apply the makeup but also how to create brows and lashes even if you lost yours to chemo. She also instructed us on how to wear a wig properly. American Cancer Society will also give you one wig and three (3) hats. You just have to ask them and fill out one paper.

Laura - don't want the Look Good Feel Better info but thanks anyway - this is my second time around just trying to find out from SLV about the availability of the Anastasia powder (in Canada).
-
Sorry. I just shared info hoping to help as it was/is a free event.

208sandy, yes I purchased it at sephoras. I also got the stencil kit thinking I would need help with "drawing" the proper shape, however I suggest Not purchasing that as I found it quite easy to fill in using a small slant eyebrow brush right on the brow bone. Anastasia also makes a felt pen that was helpful in drawing hairs on top of the powder. Just to let you know, the powder does stay on quite well, I think it must have some wax in it. When I run out (which will probably be a long time, I still havnt hit metal yet!) I will definitely repurchase. I found that it gives a much more realistic look compared to the Mac pencil I originally purchased.
I'm sorry to hear you are going through chemo again. Did you have a recurrence? I hate this disease, but have learned to appreciate each day, positive thoughts going your way {{{hugs}}}

Slv thanks for the info - yes I have mets and actually have had for two years now - I am one of those "on treatment - off treatment" kinda people - AA combo took out some of the activity and my tumour markers are down but things are starting to creep up again so will get probably Halaven starting in January - now that I've been through this before I wanted to be prepared. I tried the stencils a few years back and couldn't get the hang of them and right now am using a very old brown eyeshadow and an angle brush but have some eyebrow hair for the powder to adhere to so glad to hear about the Anastasia product - many years ago I purchased one of her eyebrow pencils and it was just wonderful colourwise and application wise. Thanks for your positive thoughts and hugs. S.
