hi lynnlynn - I am sorry you were diagnosed and have to join the group, but please don't feel alone.  There are so many ladies on this board that are very supportive.  We understand what you are going through.  I am halfway through chemo and I can honestly say the time has gone quickly.  It's also not as bad as I thought it would be.  Once things getting moving along you will feel better.  I know I was a mess in the beginning.  I still sometimes have breakdowns but not as bad or as often as in the beginning.  That time was the worst but it does get better

Lynn, don't feel alone..if you do not have friends or family handy at this time, this site is great, but please take advantage of the company and care of fellow chemo patients during your sessions. There will be people there in various states of chemo where you'll be able to see where you'll be headed and become a resource for those coming in after you. I made many friends during periods sharing and comparing notes (best places to get wigs, discussing our situations with treatments, meeting their family members etc.). You should find that chemo patients are very caring with each other (bringing in food, flowers, hats, hugs).  In fact, I had dinner with one of my "Chemo Buddies" last night.  We met during chemo sessions discussing our simularities and doctors. While anyone can be empathetic, there is no one like a fellow patient who can fully understand and appreciate and offer insight regarding some of the strange effects of the treatments.  In the meantime, please look into local support groups and be honest with how you are feeling with your doctors, they seem to have people on staff to assist with stress.  I can't promise you it will be easy, I can promise that you do not have to be alone.

Thinking of you as you plan for your first chemo next week. 

I remember in the beginning thinking Chemo would never end...but like everything with this journey it eventually does end and you move on.  I hope you have some good support in your life. If there is not already a November 2014 chemo thread, you might want to start one in the Chemo, Before. during, after.  Hearing what other people were feeling & doing that were in my same time frame made me feel less alone.  

Some of the best advice I got in this journey, was from a friend who told me to let people help if they offer.  It makes people feel good to help others, so you might want to keep a list of things you cannot do or do not feel well enough to tackle. When people ask what they can do...ask them to do something on your list. If you cannot deal with the offers of help, ask a family member or friend to tell people what they can do to help you.

hello my mom diagnosed with dci stage 2-a and she had a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed after three weeks of surgery she will start chemo and using Reserpine

does anyone has the same problem and diagnose how things will goo anyone pls ?

Welcome ynwa0011 to BCO, as people like you wanting to know how to help their mothers are very important.

If your mother has DCIS you'd be better looking at DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) Topic and possibly posting there.

If you can check with your mother what her actual diagnosis is, that will help with people here responding appropriately as there are big differences between diagnosis of DCIS, IDC and hormone test results being positive or negative.

There will be plenty of people here with similar problem to your mom who are fit and well now. Your mother just needs a lot of support with what she has to deal with now. Thank you for being there.

The exact diagnose of my mom is:

Invasivum Ductal Carcinoma ,Stage/IIa ,and progesterone and estrogen are negative but Her/2 is positive.
