One tumor ER/PR positive-tamoxifan required?

I'm looking for some experiences to help me while I wait for the surgeon to take his sweet time to refer me to a hematologist/oncologist.  Stage 2.  BMX 3 weeks ago.  The biopsy in June said the tumor (now 2.1 cm) was ER/PR (and HER) positive.  I think I understand how the HER2 is treated.  But what about ER/PR?  If it wasn't evident in the lymph system is tamoxifan always recommended?  Can anyone tell me how theirs is treated?  Thanks!

you will be taking either tamoxifen or an AI like Arimidex to block the estrogen your body makes.

Hello! We have similar profiles. I wanted to let you know about Pertuzumab. It is very new (fast tracked through the FDA because of great results in advanced stage BC) my onco was very excited when I came back HERS2/hormone positive because she wanted to use this to attack the tumor (and lymph nodes) as it has been so effective. Only thing is that it is only approved for pre-surgical use at this time. 

I start my chemo today so more of what I have absorbed in the past weeks will hopefully settle in and come to light (all these crazy long non sensical drug names are frustrating me!)

One tumor ER+/PR+/Her- plus 3 cm DCIS around it. It's the ER+ positive factor, regrdless of my lymph node status, that seems to demand tamoxifen or an AI inhibitor in my near future from what my oncologist seems to have told me. I was sort of in a daze the day of the initial consult with her, but that's a part of what I understood her to be saying on the subject of tamoxifen.
