Very puffy eyes.

I know it seems mundane on the face of it, but really, I can't wear most of my tops (too clingy, haven't dealt with getting a decent prosthesis, can't stand shopping right now), I have no hair and I'm losing my eyebrows, so now having these very puffy eyes that look like I have been crying or up all night really does bother me! It started about 2 cycles into my A/C. I finished the 4th cycle 2 weeks ago. (Starting abraxane next week). I wake up and my eyes are sooo swollen. They get a tiny bit better as I'm up and around, but nowhere near normal. This is from the chemo (or induced menopause?), I did not have it before. I suddenly look very old and very tired. For my work, I meet lots of new people, but I'm even just embarrassed seeing my neighbors, etc. (I do have dry eyes too, use drops, eyes aren't red or anything). I eat well and walk every day, I'm not laying around all day (though wouldn't mind being able too...).
So, anyone else with this? Does it go away? Any tips to help?

Hi Caeser! That happened to me too. I looked like Uncle Fester from the Adam's family. It almost came on out of nowhere and lasted for a few weeks. You should return to normal soon. It most likely is coming from the chemo and any steroids they are giving you with it.

Thanks, that is reassuring!
My last steroids were 2 weeks ago though (only during infusion, didn't take any after), so it doesn't seem like they could still be doing this...probably chemo related still. Hope it goes away, reassured that yours did!

Ceaser, Duckys post cracked me up! I also felt like Uncle Fester.
My eyebrows & eyelashes fell out at the end do A/C. Face was so puffy. Then I always had a beanie on because my bald head was cold. ( I did not wear my wig )... Eyelashes fell out again. They are back in but not as thick as I would like.
I was dx one year before you. My hair has grown back in thick, as it was before. So that is good news. Hang in there, breast cancer is a slow, twisty, roller coaster. We all want to get off as soon as possible.

I don't wear my wig either - hate it for some reason - I pile on scarves, 2 at a time or one over a hat for my cold head. Probably doesn't help the overall look. So your puffy eyes got better too? Weird how its bugging me more than being unibreasted, etc etc. Maybe because its because its where people look - at your eyes - and its harder to fake health.
