Tykerb Questions

Not sure what thread to put this in, so here I am.  Stage 4 in Aug 2013.  herceptin every 3 weeks and 1000 mgs of tykerb daily.  Had herceptin during my first round of treatment with few if any se's.  So I think it is the tykerb

My questions  How long have folks been on it?  My onc tells me the fatigue is not cumulative - but oh boy does it feel like it.  I have little energy or enthusiasm for anything.  I am trying to figure out if it just the fatigue or diarreha ( somewhat controlled with immodium) and se's from that making me so tired and essentially "joyless"  Have you had a break, how long?  How have you managed the se's.  A year into this I am tired of not feeling like myself.  

I am a single Mom, a teen and young adult, working and 60 years old.  My onc says he thinks it is my life , not the treatment but everything just seems like so much effort.  Feels like I am marking time and not living.  And I feel like a whiner as I know many others have it so much more difficult.  

Insights, thoughts  Magic potion that will get my energy back?

I am on Herceptin (which I am stopping - as it affects my lungs) Tykerb and Xeloda. I just finished my 7 day break from Xeloda and have only been on Tykerb and I am exhausted. For me it must be the Tykerb. I do not have any answers yet...I have only been on this combo since September 2014. I usually drink a lot and today I have not, so I do think that keeping liquid consumption high, may help somewhat.
