Still Pain in chest and shoulder

Hello



Its  almost one year my mom is done with  treatment . She had chemo for six month (TAC) and then BMX. After her first surgery the surgen found out there were some pectoralis muscle were involed.
So , she had another (secand) surgery  then radiation.  After that   , she felt  very tightness in her chest. She had pain in her chest , and her right side ribs and back . So , she started to go for physical therepy.Its almost 8 months ago she done with pt too. Now , still some time she feel very pain in her chest and her under shoulder. ( specially she feel numbness under her shoulder and thigtness)Is that normal? Do I have to talk with her oncologist . Any information will be helpfull. God bless Zohra

    You should definitely have her mention it to her oncologist at her next appointment (and I assume she's still seeing someone every 3-6 months?). But - I'm almost a year post BMX (though no muscle involvement) and I still have occasional tightness in my shoulders, and numbness and weird twinges by my ribs / along my sides where the intercostal nerves run - it is these nerves that get disturbed during the surgery and they regenerate to some extent and that process can be painful / or at least feel weird. But, any long-term pain that doesn't go away should be mentioned to her doctors.
