How long after having a vacuum core biopsy did you have an uncomfortable feeling with your arm and was the area "hard" where the spot was?  I remember the lady that was helping talking to me about what it could feel like afterwards & how some people have pain & bruising that shows up later.  I also have been sleeping oddly on my other side as to not make it sore but I think it did the opposite & has made my shoulder more sore???

I'm 30.  My mother had HER2 bc diagnosed at 53.  Over the summer I felt something strange on my chest wall.  I went to the doctor and he couldn't feel anything but still sent me for a mammo and ultrasound.  neither showed anything.  So, I pushed it all to the back of my mind.  I went to a follow up appt with my dr a couple months later- after I had learned about my biological dad's family's cancer history (sister in her 30s bc diagnosis, grandmother, aunt, etc).  I informed my dr of all of this and he order the BRCA1and2 genetic test.  They came back negative.  He went ahead and scheduled me for a breast MRI since I am considered high risk.  I didn't expect anything to show up since my mammo and sono were clear.  The MRI did show something.  and I have no idea what it all means.  I'm told it is a 1.9cm suspicious area located at 10 o'clock on my right breast.  I had another ultrasound yesterday and was supposed to have it biopsied but the tech couldn't find anything.  So, now I have to wait for an MRI guided biopsy (the radiologist, my Doctor and my Doctor's nurse are all out of town until next week).  I am terrified.  the waiting is awful. the tech said that my mammo showed a good source of blood supply to the 1.9cm area.  what does this mean? I was right about the spot even though no one could feel or see it.  I feel validated for that.  I can't describe the fear I am feeling. It's like I want to get off the train now, I didn't mean to get on this train!  Anyone been through all this?

Hi  Linzbry- try to keep calm. Good for you for keeping on top of this and not letting it go. Not all masses or things that are found are malignant. Also, it could be precancerous tissue. Even if it is IDC or ILC, there are so many treatments today, and some are not as harsh as others. I had two biopsies and two IDCs -and the MO gave me an excellent prognosis. Just check out the place where you are having the biopsy to be certain that it is state of the art- if you can find a better facility, it may make sense to switch. Hugs and hang in there!
