I know the official advice is to remove acrylic nails, but has anyone kept them?  I would get my own set of tools.

I started chemo in August. I have kept my acrylic nails. So far, all is well. My nails are usually very bad, which us why I started with acrylics. I've been using them for nearly 29 years and have no intention of stopping now. I work in marketing and PR and need to look polished. I'll be in chemo until the end of the year. Hope they hold out!

I am wondering the same thing. I start March 2nd. I was advised to not go to

a salon to have them done . But I would assume it would be ok if you brought

    your own tools.

I has mine removed before chemo after all. Cytoxan and Taxotere are known to affect nails. A month and a half out from my last treatment, I have two natural nails starting to lift, I'm hoping that I don't lose them. I bought OPI Nail Envy to strengthen my nails. I think removing the acrylics was a good idea. I'll go back to acrylics, once my nails grow back strong
