does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

can you pm the moderators? They would be the best ones to ask.
-
It might be because you just joined. I think I've read about this happening here before.

Dear MamaDarrling
When you are a recent Registered Member, you are limited to 5 PMs per day and you must have sent 5 PMs today. Sorry, but that is the way the system was set up to prevent spammers jumping on and sending PMs to everyone. You will have your PM capability restored each day, so you are only limited for minutes more.
If there are any problems, please feel free to contact us.

Hi,
I understand the rationale to prevent spam. I'm engaged with a variety of members on this forum and find this 5 PM per day cap to be very frustrating.

John,
This is an old thread:
-
So what if it's an old thread. It completely pertains to his question.
-
I thought about starting a new thread, but why bother duplicating the topic when the question already exists?
Also, I didn't want to Private message a moderator and "burn" one of the 5 daily PM's.
That would be counter productive.

Hey John.
Those are quite the surgeries you've had!!
-
John,
Seems logical! I thought you were addressing the op
-
John - is your "research" sanctioned by BCO - if it is then perhaps they can lift the cap in your case - if it isn't well then.....

I am NOT a new member and I keep bumping up against a very limited number of PMs per day. It's especially frustrating to get no warning, so I might write a detailed response only to get the message that it won't be sent.
Furthermore, I think the 24-hour period starts with EDT and I'm on the west coast, so if I send a couple of PMs in the evening, I'll hit my allocation unexpectedly the next day.
I understand limiting PMs with newly registered members, especially those who might not have completed a profile, but I'm getting kind of tired of this.
Mods, can you help? At this point I can't even PM the mods, which is DEFINITELY a feature that needs review, in my opinion.
-
So that tells me I shouldn't use Private Messages to alert the Moderators to spammers. I have been unable to send messages a few times where I have put considerable time and detail into messages. We are given the option to use personal messages and do so at discretion of whether it adds to a thread or should be taken offline one on one, but then limited. It does get frustrating.
-
You don't need pm's to report spam. There is a Report This Post link to the right of the Post a Reply button. If you have questions on the limits of pm'ing, the mods are your best source of info.
-
Most of my pages don't offer the "Report this Post" option. When I have tried to use it I was told that I don't have those rights. Probably another limitation to help protect the site. I find this frustrating from the standpoint of being a IT project manager of major websites for 15 years. I have a good eye for spam and other irregularities and not really a way to help out when I see it.

sounds like something best addressed with the moderators

We are looking at a better way to manage the current situation. Thank you for bringing it again to our attention. We assure you, it is being looked at, again.

Thanks, Mods. I'm looking forward to seeing a solution soon, as this doesn't seem to present that many technical challenges.
It seems to me that we should ALWAYS be able to send a message to the Mods, at the very least.
