Treatment after surgery

good morning...I'm getting ready to have my mastectomy in a few weeks but my surgeon said that they won't know what my treatment will be till after the pathology report after surgery.has any had a mastectomy with out chemotherapy? he has already told me that I will not get radiation but not sure if I'll have to do chemotherapy .

lynnett...Treatment is determined after pathology from mx is finalized. My bs and mo told me the same thing, that I wouldn't need rads but weren't sure about chemo til after path results came back. Originally they thought my tumor was 5cm's so I knew chemo was a strong possibility but to everyones surprise my tumor turned out to be MUCH smaller. This site has been a life saver for me so come back with allll your questions and concerns, the women on here are so helpful and kind. Good luck with your surgery let us know how it goes !

thank you ladies at least now I don't feel as anxious..
