I'm 36 and started having an itchy left nipple for a few weeks with no visual changes. Started researching and found it could be a symptom of cancer. I've also noticed prominent veins on that breast recently. My mom died of breast cancer so I went to see my doctor. She felt a cyst at my well women check up a month ago but wasn't concerned. She did notice the veins on my visit this week but didn't say much. I have been having feeling of fullness in that breast and I'm not sure if it's all in my head or what?  My mammogram in 8/2013 was normal. She scheduled an ultrasound for Friday. Does this sound like anyone else's symptoms? No, I'm not pregnant. :)

    Hi Ericka,

Welcome to the boards, It sounds like you are taking the right steps in seeing your doctor and getting regular check ups to keep an eye on any changes in your breasts. We're sorry to hear about your mom, it's understandable that you would also be concerned about this.

You might like to take a look at this page: Breast cancer symptoms. It's important to know that changes in your breasts can be and usually are in young women signs of less serious conditions that are not cancerous, such as an infection or a cyst.

We do suggest that you bring a list of your concerns and questions to your doctor next time you meet him/her.

    All the best,

    The mods.
