Extent of tissue removal - lumpectomy

Hi!

I am having neoadjuvant chemo (halfway through!) and will most likely end up getting lumpectomy and radiation afterwards as my gene test came back negative. My question for you all who had neoadjuvant chemo is how much tissue did your surgeon remove as compared to the original size of the tumor. Also for those of you who may have shown complete response in imagining, did they still end up removing some tissue to validate the response or was it more like a biopsy?

I am trying to get info ahead of my surgery so I can plan well and appreciate any input or experience you may provide. I searched google but did not see anything much and posted on the lumpectomy lounge but did not get a response. Thanks so much!!
