Radioactive Iodine

So, has anyone done this recently?  I am going to have a very small dose, having had thyroid surgery this summer.  I have to be on a non-iodine diet for a week- will have two thyrogen shots,then the radioactive pill... Just wondering if anyone has done this recently and is there anything I should be on the lookout for?

I had this done many years prior to bc, so my experience is not recent. Still, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.
