Question about radiation

Hi,

This past week my wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The doctor says it is stage 1 and we had  decided to do a lumpectomy. My wife also has connective tissue disease. After meeting with her radiologist today she was told that they are not sure that the radiation will work because of her condition and if not she would have to remove the breast. She said that the doc said there is not a big enough case study to know for sure. My question here is has anyone else here had radiation treatments that has also had connective tissue disease? Thanks for any info you can give to us.
