I'm not at all surprised by these results.  Too often they forget about the emotional and psychological well being of patients after treatments.  The many who choose further breast surgery are seeking to attain symmetry and matching breasts.  How many women here have undergone a large lumpectomy with radiation are now left with uneven unmatched breasts - one droopy breast and one smaller head light?   The best is when these women can respond 20 years later and say they were satisfied with their decision!!  Good for them!!

Me too!!  I feel so lucky to have made it this far.  I never take the future for granted.

Off Topic - I just received a letter from a former employer asking if I was interested in receiving my pension early - lump sum or monthly distributions.  I just turned 58 last week.  Previously this would not have been such a hard decision - now I am very undecided.  My reality is I know I can have a scan done tomorrow and my whole world will turn inside out - just like it did on 4/18/2006....

cp418, I have the exact same thoughts....and DH tries to calm me by telling me I could end up like Julia Child...92 and died from something else.  No one knows, though our deck is stacked.  I keep hoping there is a cure around the corner

If you can take pension and have a beneficiary without too much loss on the amount, that might be a way to go.  Sadly, none of us is promised tomorrow.  I hate that ;-)
