MRI question

I've been lurking since my diagnosis in July.  LCIS and Flat Atypical.  Mother and Grandmother passed from BC. Dense breasts.  SOOOOO much information here.  My BS was very impressed with my knowledge...thanks to all of you!

My question...I just had an MRI and although I got the "all clear" letter, I asked for the official report and am confused.  It says multiple bilateral cysts are noted, which I am assuming are OK and may be due to fibrocystic change.  But then it says "there appears to be a flow void present" in the biopsy region.  Is this a bad thing?  Could this just be because of the biopsy?

Welcome to BCO as an active member. We have unknown numbers of lurkers (readers not yet joined) as many people just need the information. That is fine, as we are still providing a valuable service as an educational resource for them and that is one of BCOs primary focuses and we are glad you were helped..

You are welcome to contact the Moderators for any questions or assistance and we'll help as best we can. Cysts are common in breast tissue, and in your case obviously benign. Standard MRI can’t see fluid that is moving, such as blood in an artery, and this creates “flow voids” that appear as black holes on the image.

For future reference: Your Dx shows with any of your subsequent posts but not with the Thread opening post..

You can also add any information that the Dx
section doesn't cover with text in your "Signature", if you'd like.
