ALH Feel hole in scar tissue
I have very dense breasts and fibrocystic breasts
. Last year I had biopsy , truly flat epithelial atypia. Than had left wire guided biopsy for b3 lesion. Portion of breast tissue 24g 55x35x20mm. Results fibrotic breast showing fibrocystic change with columnar alteration, fiscally amounting to flat epithelial atypia and with ALH . Scattered calcification a are seen.
Yearly mammogram and check up recommended, as also have 3 aunts who had breast cancer and father died colon cancer.
Had clear mammogram in June.
Last week as I was checking breast there is a hole inside breast on scar tissue, feels like my finger sinking through a donut hole, you can't see from outside only scar and bit of dent.
Very worried about hole anyone else have this

The hole is probably the result of the biopsy, where they removed tissue. -
my lumpectomy scar feels a little like you described, even after 11 years. We all heal differently; I wouldn't worry about it, unless it feels like a new hard lump. (I had LCIS, took tamoxifen for 5 years, now evista, high risk surveillance of alternating mammos and MRIs.)

Kidellla- Was the most recent mammogram a 3D one? Have you had an MRI? Have you had genetic testing done? If not I would push for the MRI and genetic testing immediately .
Sorry to be a straight shooter here but, I would not be sitting around waiting for a yearly monogram with your dense breasts and strong family history.
Be pro-active

I have a similar "hole" where my excisional biopsy was performed over 3 years ago. Feels like there's a bit of an empty space where the tissue was taken out. So long as this is nothing new for you, I wouldn't be alarmed about it.

I have a hole on the breast that had a core biopsy only. There is a definite feeling of a hole. On the treated breast, which had 6 surgeries, the empty area is on the bottom of the breast, but it's like a quadrant is missing.
I agree with momoschki, if this is not something new, I wouldn't worry. If it is new, see if you can get an appointment with your breast surgeon for a breast exam. They are quite familiar with changes in breast "terrain" after surgery, and can help sort out if this is "expected" or something different. If they have any concern, I'm sure they'll send you for follow-up imaging.

thanks so much for replies , there has been no mention of MRI's . The hole feels new, it is right on scar line, I thought maybe it takes this long for scar tissue to break up. My finger fits in hole when I run along scar line.
Can I contact breast clinic direct to talk to someone or do I have to go through GP
-
Kidella, I imagine a lot will depend on your health care system and/or insurance plan--I'd start with the breast clinic if possible, as your GP won't likely have enough specialized knowledge to give you a good answer. While you're at it, I think it would be a good idea to ask about genetic testing. Three aunts with BC is a pretty strong family history, I'd say. I like to err on the side of caution. Do let us know what you find out--and here's hoping it all works out well!

I have seen hereditary clinic, but no genetic test I unless another cancer diagnosis in family. Ringing breast nurse today. Hole feels like small donut very pronounced rim

I spoke to breast nurse she said it is just where area was removed and fluid build up as dissolved leaving empty space
