Painful redness above (or below) DIEP flap incision,

I had two 'unsuccessful' partial mastectomies on the left breast after an IDC, but multi focal DCIS led to a total mastectomy on the left side, and then subsequent lift on right side, nipple reconstruction and other recon tweaking surgery due to fat necrosis.

However, what has been more painful is this odd and very painful redness, or blotchy ness, that occurs on my stomach and abdomen if I am in the sun or very hot. I have learned how to control it with cold compresses, but after 3+ years after mastectomy and DIEP flap, it is strange to see the condition persist. AND my doctors have no idea what it is or what can be done. 

Has anyone had experience with this kind of thing?
