I had BMX 1 year ago and have scheduled my nipple recon for November.   I'm also having fat grafting and a tummy tuck in the procedure. I'm concerned that I will not be happy with the nipples due to the constant protrusion of the nipple and having to wear a bra.   Also I just underwent a biopsy this week for a lump that turned out to be fat necrosis...my concern with the fat graft is having more necrosis leading to the state of panic I just went through. As for the tummy tuck that is a must since I went from DDD to a B/C I'm tired of the "when's your baby due comments" because my protuberant belly is so obvious on my 5 foot frame now.  Can I get some feedback on nipple recon and fat graftingpros and cons?

I have had one nipple reconstructed and have fat grafting twice.  I absolutely would do both again!  With the fat grafting, I had one lump of fat necrosis.  My doctors were fairly certain that was what the lump was from the get go.  After a few months, my body reabsorbed it.  Alls good now.  With the nipple recon - I LOVE it!!!!  My native nip was sewn back on twice, but is still in pretty good shape.  The recon nipple is a very good match to the other.  While they are not "invisible" under clothes, it does not look like they are cold either.  They are just there! Hope that makes sense.  The mental healing the nip gave me was HUGE!  Now I am saving up $$$ for a tat with Vinnie!

I was wondering if the tattoos were covered by insurance or if he accepted insurance. I know I need recon or tats to feel at least close to normal again.

Vinnie does not accept insurance.  He does however give you paper work to summit to your insurance.  Some ladies here have had luck with getting it covered, others have not.  Thus, I am saving my money.  I know it is what I need to feel complete and worth the scrimping in other areas of my life to save the money.  Good luck!
