I was diagnosed with BRCA  1 mutation in 2008  at the age of  23. I made the decision to go through the bilateral prophylactic mastectomy and a hysterectomy. Still not complete with my breast reconstruction. I recently found a lump on my right side and had an MRI of my breasts I made my follow up appointment with my oncologist but being that it's a military Dr. They are not able to get me in any time soon. I am concerned because not only is there a lump but I am having odd shooting pains on that side rather frequently. I am also concerned because with my families history  the onset of breast cancer has been between the ages of 30 and  38. I am now 28   I am just frustrated and scared at the same time that all of the preventative surgeries were a waste of time.  Any advise while I'm waiting to see my Oncokigist??

I'm so sorry you have found a lump. How long do you have to wait? I have heard of people having harmless calcifications that can form after PBM. Have you been to the FORCE website forum? There are many BRCA+ women on there that might have some similar experiences to share. I'm BRCA2 and I have found the forum very helpful.
