Ginger Selectively Kills Breast Cancer Cells

DLB to respond to your question, I think it would be difficult to assess in many cases. For example, in west and North Africa ginger is used very liberally. Determining it's value for BC treatment would be quite impossible given the conditions and culture. The most relevant African BC statistic I've found is: if you get BC and don't have money, you die. I haven't read this in the media, I've personally seen it.

She,,, I don't have a Vitamix, Ariom will have to test it out for us!! I only have a Oster blender and I doubt it would work in that. I may have to stick to ginger candy!! Not that I'm complaining about that. -
She, I totally agree. I had actually looked up worldwide bc stats, and it was immediately evident there were way too many other factors in cultures where ginger is a diet staple -- everything from socio-economics, to other food inclusions/exclusions, to a difference in environmental toxins -- to draw any meaningful conclusions or even hypotheses about ginger.
-
I agree as well. So, keep eating it because it's quite tasty and if it does some good, then that's a great bonus.

thanks for the link. It's motivating to be reminded of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle
a suggestion for ginger drink;
Water, Ice, 3-4 cm ginger, half a lemon.
Blend everything, if ice is not melted wait a Little, then through a sieve - and there is a really nice drink. -
Morning smoothie = either chunks of fresh ginger root, or dried ginger in my protein powder smoothie with blueberries and bananas (in the Vitamix, of course!)
Microplaned fresh ginger root in a glass of ginger ale over lots of ice to soothe an upset tummy
Microplaned or finely chopped fresh ginger root, simmered in a pot of water with lemon chunks until soft, then pressed through a sieve for ginger lemon tea... add honey to taste. This is a big help when I have a cough or bronchitis, and I wake up at night with those awful coughing spasms. I put the hot ginger-lemon-honey tea into an insulated, spillproof travel mug and keep it on my nightstand. The hot liquid stops the coughing better than any cough syrup I've tried!
-
Blessings--the fresh man ginger tea got me through my recent nasty cough that hit me after my flue shot! good as you can just guzzle it all day long!

Ginger is a proven anti inflammatory so helps with side effects of anti hormonals too, it certainly does no harm, i love carob coated ginger........
-
I eat, or drink it, most days too, have done for many years, for Rheumatoid inflammation.
-
again,I have been eating ginger sucking candy way before I got the beast
It helps me with indigestion
Now I went further I put raw ginger in a cup of hot water, ginger tea bag a little brown sugar,a cinnamon stick and let it stand for 10-15 min...
Nice spicy taste

I used to get the best, cheap candied ginger at Trader Joe's, and I liked it because it wasn't smothered in chunks of sugar. Then about a year ago, they discontinued it. Every time I asked, they'd say it had something to do with Proposition 65 and "metals"?????? They say it will return one of these days.
In the meantime, we hit Whole Foods in Laguna Beach, and not only did they have TUBS of candied ginger, they also had a whole SECTION of ginger products by the checkout register. Rah!
I do NOT want to try any chocolate-covered ginger. I have NO WILL POWER and will use the excuse that eating the entire package is medicinal!

Blessings, the one I buy is called Naked Ginger, I just happen to have a pack right beside me! It is Uncrystalized and is made by Buderim and Australian company, but I believe they sell all over the world. There is some sugar on it, but it is a more velvety spicy ginger.
-
Blessings, I just went online and called the company here. They sell in the US in Sacramento and New Jersey, I am not sure if they sell all their products there, but may be worth looking. It is Select Ingredients NJ and Sandy in Sacramento. There is a Buderin Ginger.com there too.
-
Thanks, Ariom - I will Google it!!!
(We have a surprising number of very good health food stores here - including Whole Foods - but I always like to have a list of alternatives to try!!!)
-
Just don't google "Naked Ginger" especially on your work computer. You will get links to naked red heads!! **shocked** What would work think???? -

Totally Off-Topic: when I worked at the University, the Office Manager had her desk out in the hallway where our Counseling offices were. She was trying to locate some sort of office supply, but clicked on a link by mistake, which took her to a page where an animated figure screamed "I LOVE GAY PORN!!!" "I LOVE GAY PORN!!!" over and over and over again. We could hear it through our closed doors. When we got a chance, we peeked out into the hallway, and there she was, red-faced and horrified, under her desk, unplugging her computer. We laughed about that one for years.
-
HAHAHAHAHAHA!! That's great! how embarassing for her!
