Wow!  Is this as promising as it sounds?

This was only a pre-clinical study (i.e., a "mouse trial" they're called in the industry) to see if there was a basis for continuing this line of research.  It looks like there is.  So, the next step would be to see how to trigger this enzyme with a chemical substance.  Once they've determined that they can trigger the enzyme with a chemical substance, then new studies would be done to determine chemical toxicity and maximum effective dosing.  If the results continue to be promising, then they'll move to human trials.  But... it could all "fizzle" if they can't figure out how to trigger the enzyme or if the chemical substance that triggers the enzyme is too toxic, or human trials show that - for humans - this isn't as significant as it was for mice.

That's, probably, why it's not being given greater coverage.  It's a bit too early to be excited... unless you've had breast cancer and you like to keep up on new- and promising research.  Happy
