Wife had chemo, double mastectomy, and radiation

Hello everyone! My wife was diagnosed with Stage 2B breast cancer 10/1/13. We were told she was Her2 positive and also had a positive node in her right armpit. As a result she had chemo first, followed by a double mastectomy, and lymphnode removal. It was advised to have immediate reconstruction followed by radiation which ended 8/30/2014. Unfortunately, she noticed a nodule under her left armpit, right arm, several in her abdomen area, and pelvis area; total of appx; 12. The one under her armpit was biopsied and contains cancer cells. She's scheduled for a CT and bone scan Tomorrow and Thursday with Friday the oncologist giving us a full report. She's been in lots of pain in her abdomen area and lower back. I'm optimistic but so afraid. The cancer she had before was hormone fed and very aggressive so as of Friday they put her on Tamoxifen.  

I'm not sure what to expect. My heart is broken. She's 42 and a mother of twin girls. Please keep us in your prayers.

Thank you all for your warm wishes. This journey has truly been a testament of our strength. I wish there was more I could do and I pray my love and support will sustain us during these difficult times. I love her to life and would love for our forever to be many years to come.

Hello everyone,

My dear Nikki's results were delivered Friday 9/5/14.  She was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer with met to liver with subcutaneous nodules throughout her body.  She started chemo today; Gemzar and Carboplation; 8 cycles to take place (Wk 1 both drugs, Wk 2 Gemzar only, then a week off).  

We didn't ask for a prognosis, rather the Oncologist stated she would like to get ahead of the disease which made me hopeful.  They also prescribed morphine for the pain; thank God.  I am thanking God for the healing that is taking place and praying for longevity.

Hello Niloc,

Thank you for inquiring. Nikki has been responding to chemo well. She's on Carboplatin/Gemzar; 2 weeks on 1 week off. She's also on Aredianbone strengthening once a month. Her cancer markers have decreased and the liver pain has gone away.

The new development which had us in the hospital for a week is the pain under her arm pit, down her arm and the area in back near the crease of the arm pit. The right implant has been removed as they said it was infected. However, she still has intense pain which is being managed (or lack thereof) by dilaudid and morphine. She describes it as a constant tightness/muscle spasm in the arm pit and the area in the crease while the arm is a burnin sensation. The area are very hard too. We are at a loss. Every couple of hours she's been taking pain meds which doesn't relieve the pain. We've appli d heat compresses as well.

Please help.
