Taking both Tamoxifen & Rhus toxicodendron

I'm constantly getting poison ivy rashes & have been thinking about trying a homeopathic preventative called Rhus toxicodendron.

I've talked with the oncology department to check as I'm also on tamoxifen. They have done some research but couldn't find any feedback on taking both.

Has anyone else tried this, or have any information about mixing the two?

Thank you.

No personal experience except to point out that homeopathy generally involves the allergic substance in a very low "diluted" dose and is supposed to stimulate your immune system to create resistance to the offending agent.

Since tamoxifen is an estrogen receptor blocker, theoretically the two mechanisms of action are different and should not conflict. However, our bodies are constantly searching out & destroying cancer cells so I would not want to overwhelm that function by giving it too much to do over a long treatment time period, if that makes sense.

I imagine you've tried to minimize your exposure to the poison ivy and reduce the rashes by wearing long sleeves, etc. The oil does cling to clothes so you have someone else do the laundry, right? Depending on where you live, the vines might be dying off when frost arrives. Make your friends go into the woods and eradicate them (unless you're a forest ranger and can't clear the entire national park!)
