I think I have ascites. So worried

I am pretty sure that I have ascites. I have been putting weight on the past six months. I just thought that I was putting on weight. But I keeping putting it on. I put 10 pounds on in less than three months. My abdomen is hard and I look like I am six or seven months pregnant. I am so worried. I am a nurse so I know ascites can mean liver disease. I had my ovaries removed so it probably isn't ovarian cancer. I see my oncologist next week. But it the meantime I am seeing the nurse practioner tomorrow at my family practice doctor's office.

Anyone experience a similar thing.

So glad I found you. Yes, I am worried also. Have been losing weight but my stomach is bloated and had unexplained vomiting. Went to my gastroenterologist and she is sending me for an ultrasound tomorrow to check for hepatoma. I already have chirrosis (sp?) non specific due to diabetes. Holy crap! I sure hope neither of us has liver cancer but like you I'm worried.  Let me know how your appt. goes.
