Diagnosed but unsure of what...

I am reading, reading, reading and trying to absorb all the details of my pathology report.  Trying not to jump to conclusions but just so darned confused and scared. I see LCIS, and DCIS, and the phrase "invasive carcinoma with tubular features, low grade,combined" and the word "malignancy." I am so anxious to hear from the surgical oncologist that my primary doctor has referred me to so I can start getting some definitive answers.  I really didn't know what to ask her yesterday as I was just so stunned. Although I wasn't surprised.  Taking the mods advice and trying to dabble in different places on this site and share....just not sure where I belong yet.

I think you belong on the mixed breast cancer type section!  Don´t give the words too much power, at the end of the day they mean that some of your cells went a bit mad and reprduced in ways that are not helpful for you.......hope this link works

"tubular features" is a really, really good prognosis. "Mixed Breast CAncer" column is good but even the IDC and LCIS are too. (((HUGS)))

Here is some BCO info on non-invasive and invasive cancers.  It looks like you have some in situ and IDC - this is very common, but the invasive component will guide your treatment:

On understanding grade -  Grade is made up of three components usually using a Nottingham score, which gives 1-3 on three different areas - these are then added together to get the grade.  The three areas are mitotic count, tubule formation, and pleomorphism - basically these indicate how many, what kind and how they look - under the microscope.  Here is a good guide to grade:
