Look out for Triclosan and Triclocarban in household products!

Options

Ditching all products containing triclosan or triclocarban -- or any other carcinogenic or hormone-altering chemicals!

Read this article with supporting research my husband brought to my attention!

It's a travesty the FDA doesn't protect us. I shouldn't have to scan bar codes or read tiny print ingredient lists on everything I use. These products should be banned! Call and/or write your legislators.

The apps Think Dirty and Skin Deep help me locate these ingredients by bar code with chemical info.

Reading about these chemicals makes me furious!

My husband showed me this news article today.

Which toothpaste, soaps, etc. do you use to avoid triclosan (or triclocarban) or other dangerous chemicals?

I won't buy products with parabens and I use Tom's deodorant. What shocked me in the above article was the variety of products containing triclosan. Prior, I thought it was just toothpaste.

I'm going to switch to Tom's toothpaste or check out Crest. Crest appears not to contain triclosan.

Where do you "pick your battles" when avoiding products with links to cancer or breast cancer?  Parabens, triclosan, deodorant? The Think Dirty app (and research) helps, but they list so much as "dirty."
