generic letrozol and have new pains
Hi members, I have searched high and low to figure out why I am feeling so rotten. I have extreme knew pain in the front and back of both legs, headaches with fatigue. Has anyone experienced new side effects with a new maker of their generic femara. My new company is Teva and the pill is a really light yellow compared to the past pills being almost orange with a shade of brown thrown in (took for almost 8 years). These are marked.....
TEVA on on side and
B1 on the other side
I just had blood panels done for inflammation and complete CBC and Metabolic panel. Low in Lymphocites a tad but all else normal. I do have a pulpitis going on with one of my teeth.
My oncologist suggested I go on Aromacin last meeting...out of the blue. he said that switching to Aromasin may take my aches and pains away but....it has a history of hair loss that I am worried to mess with. Been bald once ha ha and the side effects of Aromasin baldness are irreversible according to web sites I read.
Can you help me by one: have you experienced different side effects after changing generics of letrozol? 2: Have you switched from letrozol to aromasin? Have your pains gone away due to the switch?
So can you please help me figure this out? I just saw my onc about one month ago and everything else is OK.
Shirley...thank you

The leg pain is in the knees...sorry

I was taking the Mylan brand of generic letrozole and had a lot of pain and developed a trigger thumb, switched to Teva brand and have almost no pain - we are all sensitive to the fillers and dyes in different ways - I would suggest trying a different brand of generic letrozole before you switch to a different drug. I also found that an anti-inflammatory diet was helpful in reducing aromatase inhibitor joint pain and weight gain.

Thank you so much for responding. I would like to add that I am going to a physical therapy to loosen my legs...thought I had hip bursitis. Says the primary doctor and he said that PT would help a little but big pharma helps more. Shots and pills.
The first visit to the PT I was massaged so deeply to pull muscle away from ??? that I ended up with dozens of bruises. I mean big mean and nasty bruises. I was horrified. Perhaps too much fish oil in my diet but it was overkill on their part.
When I don't walk my knees are ok. I like to walk using trekking poles around 4 miles a day. Have not been able to do that for days and days lately. Depressing.
Going to retire this year and want to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain. I have to practice. Got my backpack and need to get in better shape. Yahoo!
Thank you,
Shirley

sschmidt - wow on the bruising! Maybe the fish oil, and do you take daily aspirin? I take it every other day as I get some esophageal discomfort if I take it daily. I found that more movement helped, but I know that doesn't work for everyone, and it is hard to get started when you already hurt! I stopped eating dairy, sugar, gluten, corn, peanuts, eggs, and soy - far less joint pain for sure, but it is a pretty strict diet. I also lost the 20 pounds from chemo/steroids/AI that I had gained. I now weigh less then before diagnosis.

Thank you am going to look into that. Yes that is a strict diet. Do you eat meat? Me and my weight are a big issue. Shirley
