LCIS, ADH and FEA questions & concerns
Hi, my name is Linda and on 8/1/14 I went in for my annual mammo. On 8/3 (yes Sunday I have Kaiser) the medical office called me to tell me I needed further mammo's because of microcalcifications and I went in on 8/6. The mammo was done at 9:00 am the tech went to show the doctor and she came back said the doctor wanted to talk to me. He came in and said the MC's looked very suspicious and he wanted a core needle biopsy done, I said ok and he said great I want to do it today, I was little surprised but I said Ok that it was done that afternoon. The next day 8/7 Biopsy dr called me and said that although they didn't find cancer in the cells they took they were atypical and was making an apt for me to see a breast surgeon. I have an apt for this Tuesday 8/12. I emailed my primary requesting he send me the path report so I could see what it said. Primary starts his response to me "Linda, I am sorry about the cancer"...WTF! Path report says LCIS, ADH and FEA, I just have this info nothing else, I will get a copy of the full report on Tuesday.
A little about me. I just turned 52 and became a grandma this past June. I have two daughters, 25 (new mom) and 18, been married 27 years. I little over two years I was diagnosed with SLE aka Lupus, my paternal grandmother died of breast cancer at 64, dad of lung cancer at 66 and my mom at 60 heart disease, diabetes. I honestly have been way more concerned with heart disease and diabetes then I ever have with cancer.
I guess I really don't know what to think. Everything I read says that LCIS is not cancer OK, ADH is not cancer OK and FEA is not cancer either. To me tho it sounds like "you hit the trifecta....it's not cancer....YET". I did have a fibroidenoma 10 years ago and the place where this all started this week is in the very same area where the fibroidenoma was previously. I very anxious about what all this means. Does anyone have all three and what did you do? I would really appreciate some feedback.
Thanks, Linda

Linda I have the exact same diagnosis as you. It is interesting that some of my Drs call LCIS cancer and some do not. Some sites call it stage 0 cancer and some do not. You just need to see a surgeon in order to make sure there is not a cancer near these other things you have. I had 3 exc. biopsies and nothing further was found. In fact 80% of the time nothing else is in there. Best advice I have is ask as many questions as you want and make sure you like your oncologist and trust them. It took me a couple before I did. Good luck on your biopsy.

Mine is the same LCIS, ADH, ALH and FEA. My surgeon said, "the only treatment is lumpectomy and anti-hormonals". Then followups every six months. Good luck to you.
