Scared, overwhelmed and trying to remain strong

My doctor called yesterday to give me some test results.  Bone scan was clean.  CT was clean still waiting for breast MRI.  Then went on to say estrogen receptors negative, progesterone receptors negative,  then HER2 receptors negative.  In my mind I am thinking, good, good, good.   I have a  tumor 1.2cm in my breast.  One lymph node biopsied positive for breast cancer; another looks suspicious (enlarged).

My emotions are all over the place.  I'm trying not to scare my kids or my husband.  Everything I've read looks bleak and survival is torturous with constant chemo.

Just looking for hope.

There is lots of hope. I'm just letting you know I'm praying for you and I very recently went through chemo & mastectomy. After surgery they found no cancer left. Triple negative responds well to chemo. Please read the post on the examples of long term survivors, its very helpful. I had tons of fear and anxiety all through treatment and still do at times but there is hope!! Chemo is temporary and can cure you. Great news than your scans were clear!!

When I met with my oncologist for the first time he said "were going for the cure". I had faith in him, he was so positive. If you look around there are many women on here who are long term survivors, connect with them if you can,  and many aren't on here at all because they are back to living life and busy. I've met several and was assigned a mentor through my hospital who I could call, it helps to connect for support.

Hugs and prayers going out for you, CHW!

Read this if you like, examples of long term survivors, lots of them. Try not to get caught up in the negative about triple negative if you can help it.
