Herceptin for more than a year (total of 23 infusions)

Hello there! I thought I'd start a thread for those of us whose oncologists recommend extended infusions of Herceptin. I was initially told that I would be on Herceptiin every 3 weeks for a year then he extended it for another 6 more times.  Luckily, I never had any side effects while I'm on it.  

From what I read in the forums, Herceptin is given normally for 6 months to one year. Any dosage after that doesn't really increase or decrease your chances of recurrence.

I don't know how to add my cancer history in my signature.   I have bilateral breast cancer and the right side is HER2+  He just said that the added six more infusions is to prevent cancer from coming back.  Well, as of now, after 23 Herceptin infusions, my heart is still in perfect condition as per my  Echo Cardiogram  results. I am hoping that it will not damage my heart in the future.

I am not early stage because i have had a local recurrence, but my MO wants me on Herceptin and Perjeta for 3 years.

I just had my last infusion today! Taken for granted that  my heart is good after 23 treatments of Herceptin, what would be the odds of my heart being adversely affected at a later time?
