Hi everyone,

I just joined 3 days ago. I was hoping to find a bit more information on hair growth. Only saw one post? Maybe I'm not

looking in the right place. I was just wondering about chemo curls. I'm 9 months out from my last infusion which was

Halloween.  I only have about 1 1/2 inches but it's all frizz. I've tried everything.. my husband is amazed at  how many

hair products are sitting on the bathroom counter. I already had a ton for my pre-cancer hair. I am so hoping that the chemo

curls as everyone calls them go away. It seems the more my hair grows the curlier and tighter they get

If any of you ladies have some sort of solution to help I would be so grateful.

They will just go away, and your hair will be just as flat as ever (sigh). I so loved my loose, lovely chemo curls.

Me too, flannelette.  I've always had bone-straight hair, and my chemo curls were delightfully feminine.  I loved them.

But Lexie, don't worry.  The chemo curls are purely temporary.  Some of us have them hang around a bit longer than others, but they're not permanent.  

I don't know of a product that will change that--either you love your curls and hate to see them go, or you can't stand them and it feels like they're around forever.

Thanks sbelizabeth! I was just hoping something would help with the frizz. I had such straight shiny hair before. I'll just have to wait for it's return.

I'm about nine months out from my last chemo and my hair is curly as could be. I call it my Jerry Seinfeld look. There are some good suggestions on the above thread to tame the curls. Best of luck to you!!

Mine only curled at the nape of my neck, and once I cut that off, it came back straight.  Funny because I had very coarse, curly hair BC and spent loads of time trying to get it smooth and flat. My hair has always grown super slow, and that didn't change, so I looked very chemo-y for well over a year after finishing treatment.  

A lifesaver for me has been the mini flat iron (made for bangs/fringe).  I've gone through 3 of them already because I use it so much.

I also used my regular shampoo & conditioner and Paul Mitchell's "skinny hair serum" all the way through treatment. Yep, even my bald head!

I have the curls too. My last chemo was 9/2014. My hair is very fine now and just kind of flies around so I have to put some product in it. It looks a little wet afterwards but until it grows long again and I can actually do something with it that's what works best for me. I still wear a hat on those days I just don't feel like doing anything with it.

How is your hair now?  How long has it been? I've read where a lot of women have around 6 inches or more by the 9th or 10th month. Mine is still just a bit over 3 1/2 inches when I pull the curl all the way out... I had my husband measure it

I have the crazy out of control curls too. I'm going to get a mini flat iron as soon as i get done with my treatment! The nurses here even told me where to buy one.

I've tried those mini flat irons and they don't work too well on me.

My daughter had me try a Chi flat iron. It worked better than anything else I've tried.
