What did you do for your wedding anniversary?

Hi,

Hubby and I will be celebrating 8 years together next week.  It is a week night, and I am exhausted from my chemo.  How do I express how much he has meant to me (especially this year with all the cancer stuff)?  Chemopause is slowing down the action for us but I still want things to be special.  Dinner out seems so not special, but not sure what else I can handle right now.  Any ideas?

Movie? You can sit in the dark and semi-sleep if necessary, but still be together.

Congrats on your up coming anniversary. My husband and I celebrated our fourth anniversary last year in the middle of chemo. I made him a nice card and wrote a note on how thankful I was for everything. Just wrote something from the heart.

Instead of going out, how about having some gourmet meal delivered from a local caterer? This way you get a good meal, it's a bit more special than a restaurant and you can be as comfy as you want since you are at home.

Oh, that is a good idea. If you don't live in a town with a local caterer.....most restaurants have take out. You could eat on your best china with candle light & wine (no doubt the non-alcoholic version for you) or sparkling water in the goblets & then watch a movie at home....is there any movie that is special to both of you, like that you watched when you were first dating or anything?

Perhaps a night at a somewhat upscale motel/hotel that has a hot tub and other 'amenities' to make it a special night away from home and all the thoughts that are there.  Take some scented candles, some bubble bath, similar 'things'.  Yes on special nights, even some  Hubby's who will never admit it, do like such at times.
