Very interesting.  My density has held and I consume more protein than the RDA to keep my weight steady.

But Doxie does osteoporosis run in your family?  I wonder if anything we do, even high protein, can prevent or reverse osteoporosis if it runs in the family.

Yes, it does.  My grandmother and all her sisters had terrible osteoporosis and they lived into their late 80s and 90s.  My mom has done everything possible to keep hers to a minimum, but she still has it.  I've been osteopenic since 2004 and one of my sisters is also.  We are all small boned, small white women.

I've always watched my calcium and, since before BC when my Vit D was low, taken Vit D supplements.  I've exercised regularly, but not over 3 hrs per week usually.  My blood sugar has always crashed if I didn't eat a lot of protein throughout the day, much over a normal amount for my size.  That is probably the only thing I have done differently from all the other women in the family, except for possibly supplementing Vit D in the older generation.

Okay, what wonderful news.  Anecdotal but worth considering.  I'm going to up my protein intake starting today!
