    Dear Wrenn- I was just diagnosed 2 days ago similarly to you. Triple negative IDC 2 cm, grade 3.  I meet with the surgeon tomorrow. They say I only require a lumpectomy but I think want a bilateral mastectomy. Of course, I am reeling and trying to weigh all the scary information for the triple negative type BC. I would love some support and wisdom.

    neeciek, so sorry to see you here. It is a scary diagnosis at first but if you read as much as possible here you will get lots of support and information.

    I chose to have double mastecto ies because i didn't want radiation And i had large breast so had both done for balance.

    Outcomes are the same for both and recovery is easier with lumpectomy (although recovery for BMX is usually not difficult.

    I will post more tomorrow. I am tired and making a mess with ipad typing. Hang in there and try to relax. Take lots of notes and ask for all of your reports. Take care
