Unusual chemo/port side effect

Hello Everybody,

this is my first posting here, probably because I am getting desperate and have not found any answers anywhere.  I've had three rounds of chemo so far with three more to go. My problem is that around the port site, sometimes as far down as the middle of my chest and as far up as the top of my head, I have this chest/neck tightness, which is made worse by the chemo, right around the port.  At this point it does not go away at all anymore and right now the best way to describe it is a heaviness in my chest and tightness in my neck (think stiff neck).  I have spent some time in the ER already where they ruled out a heart attack or a blood clot in my lungs, yet nothing else was found to explain this.  My onco thinks its a reaction to the chemo, but she says she has never heard of anyone having this.  I have prescriptions for hydrocodone which I don't want to take, because I don't like the feeling I get on it, and since it does not go away I would have to take them constantly.  Instead I am trying to manage with other pain relievers, but nothing helps, since this is more like severe pressure/tightness.

I am worried that my doctors are overlooking something big, but can't find anyone anywhere that has ever had these symptoms.  I even checked with my surgeon, who placed the port and they also think nothing is wrong?  I am soooooo tired of this terrible pressure.  It is 100+degrees out here and I fall asleep with a hot water bottle around my neck and chest!  Help, please?????
