Genomic Oncotype dx score of 39
Yikes, no family history of BC but had stage 1 and my oncotype dx score came back at 39.
Chose to have lumpectomy (1/14), chemotherapy (2/14-5/14) and 28 radiation zaps 6/14-7/14)
Starting tamoxifen now.
I would like to hear from women with similar oncotype scores a few years out from their BC treatment and how they are doing now.

hi, EWinslow. So sorry you find yourself here, but you will find lots of support in our community.
Since you've already been diagnosed, you might want to consider posting your question in the Stage I or the IDC forums (the High Risk forum is typically used for those not yet diagnosed but at high risk due to family history or BRCA mutations) so that more high-Oncotype scores will respond. In fact there is a thread somewhere (but I can't link to it with my smart phone) entitled "Long Term High Oncotype survivors."
My score was 42; like you no family history at all. Tomorrow will be my second birthday - two years since the end of active treatment. Because the Oncotype test and results haven't been around but for a few years, "long-term survivors" is a relative term. :-). But there are more if us every day!

My score was 34, I didn't do the chemo but almost 3 years and everything is good.
Not thrilled with exemestane but only 2 more years counting every day.

Hi NancyHB,
Thanks so much for your reply. Congrats on your 2 year anniversary! I am pleased to hear you are doing so well.
I have recently been suffering the after affects of radiation. Acute pain began in my left breast two days after my last zap and continues more than three weeks out. Dr's can't tell me how long it will last. No fun. It takes all my energy and focus away.
I would love to find that thread "high oncotype score survivors" and yes, I do realize that it is a relative term in this situation... ;-D
I am drinking 8 cups of green tea, taking one low dose aspirin and eating mushrooms every day in an effort to ward off recurrence. Really afraid to start the tamoxifen even though I have been holding on to the pills for over a month now. The hot flashes already come about every 20-30 minutes. Can't bear the thought of them being worse!!!
How has the tamoxifen been for you and are you also taking the Aromasin?
