Any Other High Risk Ladies on Paxil?

Hi everyone,

I'm high risk, though not sure to what extent. No history on my dad's side. My moms side: uncle dxed (diagnosed) w/ prostate cancer at 70, mom dxed w/ bilateral Stage 4 breast cancer at age 66 ( she could have had the cancer since she was in her 50's though, since it's slow growing).

I'm 45 yrs old now, with 2 kids ages 16 and 20. Got breast implants back in 2001 before breast cancer was really a concern of mine (I was very uninformed about it then). I've had 2 mammograms, both ok except for cyst on 1st one, right after moms dx- scared me so much before w knew it was a cyst! Even now, I get very nervous about doctors appts, feeling like they will "find something" every time.

Now that you all have endured my whole life story, I was  wondering if any of you are on Paxil? I was feeling kind of tired and uninterested in everything, so I was prescribed Paxil, which worked well for me before. But then I saw some research that it can act as a weak estrogen and may be risky for women  with breast cancer ( I know that I'm only high risk but still...). Of  another article contradicted that, but I don't wanna take any chances! Any opinions or advice would be welcome. Thanks. : )

hi Dee, very interedting question. I have the BRCA2 mutation, had double mastectomy, and oomph and am post menopausal and i am 55. I have found a lump which shows up as a cyst on the ultra sound. I have been taking paxil for over 6 months. I would be interested knowing any info as well.
