Anyone had chemo discontinued due to PE's (clots to the lungs)?

Diagnosed last week with  bilateral small clots to both lungs.  Went to ER for afebrile netrophilla and diagnosed with PE. My onc thinks the fever was due to the PE's.  No DVT.  Platlets 599.  Daily Tinzaparin injections. My onc has cancelled all remaining chemo.  I had 3 cycles of FEC.  I was to have one more FEC and then 4 cycles of doxcetaxel. My left breast lobular tumor has decreased in size by half - now 1.2x1.4cm. Tumor is not vascular.  Node no longer palpable or visible on ultrasound.  My tumor is highly estrogen positive and I have been on letrozole (Femara) along with FEC chemo and will continue for at least 5 years.  I will meet with my surgeon tomorrow - surgery will be in about a month.  I am worried that I don't have enough chemo in me but my onc assures me this is the way to go.  I think he is worried I will throw another clot with another FEC and doxcetaxel.

I am leaning towards bilateral mastectomy and then probably radiation.

Liver enzymes are elevated: ALT: 218, LDH: 325, GGT: 244.   

Has anyone had chemo discontinued due to PE? 

I live in Canada but am thinking of getting at second opinion online through the Clevland Clinic.  Has anyone done this?
