I believe it.  I also believe (though I'll never be able to prove it) that birth control pills caused my cancer.  I was on them for forever like an idiot.  I can't go back, but I do believe they are the culprit in my case.

Finally!  I am fully convinced that the Mirena IUD I had for total of 9 years had a lot to do with my situation.  A very good oncologist also mentioned that she is seeing a large number of women presenting with BC after use of the Mirena medicated IUD.  I had no idea that the medication could pass into the blood stream.  In fact, I was told that it could not.  I wanted to get off of birth control pills at the time.  For years I was given the synthetic progesterone birth control pills.  Another thing this onc told me is that in the big women's health study from about 5 years ago where HRT was linked to a higher rate of BC, it was the synthetic progesterone, not the estrogen, in the HRT that was causing the problem.

Now after reading this article, I'm nervous about endometrial cancer.  I know it said that the rate is not higher, but my grandmother had it, plus I've had the Mirena.

I've wondered if the Mirena IUD caused my BC.  There are other threads about this on BCO.  I had the IUD for 4 and a half years when diagnosed.  I had it removed before surgery.  I was also on the pill and Depo at various times.  I think I've always been snsitive to hormones, had fibrocystic disease, etc.
