Hi all,

I'm currently in treatment until September (ac-t) followed by 6 weeks of radiation and exchange surgery in the spring. I was finishing my graduate work this spring-now postponed for this fall and had planned to apply to medical school the following year. I am seeking any advice on how the cognitive transition after treatment has gone? I will also be on tamoxifen so any advice as to how that has affected mood/concentration/energy level would be helpful in gauging this decision. I know this is ultimately my choice, but would appreciate any wisdom on how recovery has gone.

    Hi kitpencil,

I have been on tamoxifen for the last 4 months and Im doing okay moodwise. I work in software engineering and was worried if I would be able to get back to a hi-tech job. Almost considered switching careers, but Im doing okay. Infact, my work is the best distraction I have from cancer related fears. Im 28 years and premenopausal and I ve seen a lot of women my age doing very well on it. I hope you do well on it too. Good luck with everything!
