Red, you need to get this checked out. No one here can really tell what it is and we're not qualified to give opinions on Dx.
I know it is scary when issues with the breast occur, but I have to say that the vast majority are benign conditions like infections etc.
See a Dr and follow what they suggest. Please let us know how you get on!

As Ariom said, you need to get to a doctor for a diagnosis, but I want to add one thing. Get there NOW! What you are showing above could be IBC which is very aggressive breast cancer. It could also be an infection of some type. Do not take any chances. Go to the doctor today and make sure they understand it is an emergency. Your inverted nipple is very concerning and with the rash too, would not wait. Best of luck and remember, there is a chance it is an infection and you will be sent on your way with antibiotics. Hugs!

My breast looks just like that. 2 years ago I was dx with intermediate stage 0 DCIS. I had a lumpectomy in Aug of 2012 which produced clear margins. I had no other treatment. I've had 6 month mammograms which have all been good. Then 2 days ago I leaned against a table and had pain. When I looked the areola is very red, nipple is inverted and purple, which it always is but I was able to make it come out but not now, and my breast feels hard. I called bs this morning, but he's not in for a week and a half. They told me to call my regular doctor, she's not in till tomorrow. But going to her in the morning. I know in my head it's probably an infection or nothing, but the my inner fear side is imagining all kinds of things. Breastcancer.org helped me thru my original dx in 2012, so I thought I would turn to you all again for some peace.
Thanks

Pam, you too should get checked by a doctor. IBC can come after a previous BC diagnosis as well. Make sure they do a biopsy! Hugs!!

April485, my breast surgeon is out of town for almost 2 weeks, so they told me to go to my family doctor get some antibiotics and if it doesn't improve call them. I went this morning she sent for a mammogram and sonogram. The sono showed nothing and since the radiologist didn't have my previous mamo films he had nothing to compare it to. We got those today so hopefully he will look at them by Thursday. I started antibiotic this afternoon so hopefully it will clear it up. Both doc and radiologist think it's an infection. I will give the meds a few days to work then I will be calling my bs if not better. Thanks for your response.

Well this is the last day of antibiotics and all is good. All redness and lump is gone. Radiologist saw minimal changes. So I will go for my regular checkup in August.
