There is a man from my Church who had throat cancer stage IV. He was given 3 months to live. He shared about his experience at Bicher clinic and five years later still cancer free. After my recent stage iv dx I'm going there. It is a targeted heat treatment to the tumor. My son, who came with me to the clinic met patients who are now NED after the treatment. He said one woman had lung/brain cancer sent home to die after a year of chemo, now is improving...just being there a little more than a month. There were other awesome stories. All the patients he met were positive about their experience at the clinic. My son, who thought "standard" care was all there is now says if he is every dx with cancer Bicher is where he is going.

I am at the wait and see, but feel Bicher will give me more time, and quality of life. I will also be seeing a good oncologist in Los Angeles while being seen at Bicher.

    Bicher is FDA approved.

Hindsfeet, It's encouraging to hear of others who are having success.  Everyone seems to have different results for different treatments so the follow up scans should give you the information you need to continue or try something different.  I'm hoping you'll have a complete response and that the treatments are much gentler than chemo. Actually I'm hoping your oncologist was just unfortunately trying to scare you into treatments and her prognosis was exaggerated. A second opinion may confirm this. I look forward to seeing you on these boards for a few more years at the very least. I'm on your cheer team.

Joy, I keep telling myself that the prognosis is wrong. How can I have a negative bone scan last August and now have several bone mets? I did see the PET scan (twice). The PET scan report said multiple bone mets, lung mets, and liver. Bicher sent me out for a CT scan so I'll see if it corroborates with the PET scan. With that said, I do not believe my oncologist is trying to scare me. She is not one to say something unless she believes it is true. She is pretty much by the book. I do know PET scans can show false positive as to why I'm not sure given a dx without more test. Because everyone ... family feels it is urgent I am treated. I would like to have had more tests before treatment. If I am truly stage IV for me it is about living as long as I can if I can have quality of life.
