hi all. I'm scheduled to have my right nipple removed on July 10nth because of a nipple adenoma. I have no idea what to expect following surgery, how much pain I'll be in, how it will look, how long it will take to heal... and was hoping someone had some advice for me. The Dr is concerned there is an underlying condition because of the way it looks on MRI, and will be sending it off to get tested.

I'm sorry that you haven't gotten a response.  I wasn't sure what it was so I did a quick search and it sounds like it could be a form of florid papillomatosis or papilloma so you might want to search the board for those.  They are just what I happen to have, (with some other stuff tossed in for fun) but I guess mine are deeper and not effecting the actual nipple.

They removed my ducts, cutting around my areola and nipple.  I can tell you what that looks like if you want to know.  Still getting used to it since it wasn't that long ago and it does look different.  You can ask your doctor to see pictures but I didn't.  I guess I figured I was going to do it no matter what so why not just wait and see what my results were.  Maybe I should have looked at some pictures though because my mind was imagining the very worst and it wasn't nearly that bad.
