For those startled by a suspicion..

Options

I just had my routine six month follow up with my medical oncologist on Friday. He (his PA actually) discovered a suspicious lump in the axilla on the same size as the invasive cancer and previous node invasion and dissection.

Naturally this worried me and I searched this topic all weekend, waiting for my stat ultrasound early this morning and follow up with breast surgeon this afternoon. The report was ready within an hour of the ultrasound. Cannot be more grateful for the imaging centers immediate focus on this and working me in first thing, without wait at their office.

The result of that test and the follow up with surgeon is BENIGN. Non-cancer benign cyst. While I did not post over this past weekend during worry, I did want to still report for the benefit of those who may find themselves in the same worry after a follow-up. More often than not, things will be okay. Like they are for me! B9.

    Mondays Child,

Benign!  benign , Benign!!!   It is wonderful you were able to be seen quickly and get your results back fast!  The stress of not knowing this weekend must have been horrible.  I am so happy you are ok.

Thank you for sharing this. It does help so much  to hear someone get good results when something like this happens.

    Stay well !

Yau! Great news! I am getting a biopsy tomorrow for the same thing following my four month check up. Not worried about it tho because it looks like a cyst on US. I appreciate the speed with which they deal with this tho.
