Bard Power Port Questions

Options

My mom got her bard power port put in on the 10th of this month along with her first treatment of Chemo. Last couple days she has been very weak and she has been frozen.  Is this a common side effect of the port or Chemo?  The Chemo meds they are giving her are Cyclophosphamide and Anddoxorubicin. Would those be side effects of the medicine or the port. Any help is needed please!

    Hi,

I have never had chemo, but I do have a Bard power port (long story, but I did use the port for Aredia). Most people feel sore/tender in the area where the port was placed until it has healed, but usually nothing more than that. I am not sure what you mean by "frozen". Very cold or immobile? Either way, please call your mom's infusion center or onc right away so they can help your mom deal with any se's, infections or other issues ASAP. Best of luck to her . You are a very good daughter!
