Just wondering if anyone has had these  high dose vitamin c injections during chemo? My Naturopath wants me to do this but my oncologist says it will interfere with the chemo.

    Thanks

I waited until after but there is mixed information regarding it.  I didn't want to risk it during my conventional treatment - do what is right for you though.

Here's a link that might be helpful:  http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/cam/highdosevitaminc/healthprofessional/page1

Although not tested with every chemo regimen, and actually shown not to be a problem with some... the concern, as stated on the Adverse Effects page, is "... when administered in high doses, vitamin C may result in adverse interactions with some anticancer agents."

I'm totally pro complementary medicine and pro alternative medicine for many things.  But if you're going to do chemo, I personally wouldn't risk possibly diluting its effectiveness by mixing in high dose C -- at least not close to your chemo infusion days.      Deanna
